Manager's Welcome

My name is Elaine Bailey and I am the nursery manager at the Alphabet House Nursery School. I have managed this beautiful setting for 7 years. As the nursery manager I organise and oversee the full running of the nursery and the nursery activity programme on a daily basis; I liaise with a wide range of professionals who deliver services both within the nursery and the local community.

All our staff are qualified and DBS checked We are supported by our newly appointed curriculum officer and operation manager that ensure all areas of learning is covered. The early years’ advisory team and our Area manager is also part of the supporting team. The Alphabet House Nursery is situated in the heart of a culturally rich and diverse community in London Borough of Newham and registered for 60 children. The nursery is opened for 51 weeks throughout the year, operating 5 days a week from 8am to 6pm. The nursery is closed during Bank holidays and Christmas and staff training closure. We are a paying provision for children aged 0-5 years, but also offer free funded hours for 2, 3, 4 year and 10% sibling discount.

We are situated off Green Street and walking distant from Upton Park train station and local bus routes. The nursery is fully covered by CCTV both indoor and outdoor and also operated by an electronic gate on entrance. At The Alphabet House Nursery School the needs of the children and their families are paramount. We are committed to providing high quality care and learning opportunities within a happy and safe environment. Our last OFSTED inspection in 2017 was rated GOOD. PLEASE CHECK OFSTED WEBSITE FOR FURTHER INFORMATION. We work in close partnership with parents. We hold regular parents evening, play and stay sessions, coffee evenings, quiz nights etc. Each child is allocated a “key person” who has responsibility to ensure a smooth transition from home to nursery.

Yours sincerely,
Elaine Bailey
