Manager's Welcome

My name is Shanice Morris and I am the manager for the Alphabet House Nursery School - Beckton. I currently hold Level 2&3 in childcare and Level 3 Leadership & Management, I am also currently studying for Level 5 in Leadership & Management. I have worked in the childcare sector for 6+ years and with my passion, drive and hard work I have worked my way up from a Nursery Assistant to Nursery Manager. I am a committed, enthusiastic and compassionate leader with a strong direction and vision in mind.

As the nursery manager, I oversee the full running of the nursery on a day to day basis and liaise with outside professionals who deliver a range of services to our nursery and also work with my team to provide quality teaching, quality care in a bid to delivering quality service. We have a multi-cultural and diverse team who are all DBS checked and hold a variety of qualifications ranging from Level 2 to Early Years Degree. All our staff attend additional internal and external training to ensure they are well trained.

The nursery is a registered 32 place nursery and we provide care for children aged 3 months – 5 years with a 10% sibling discount. The nursery provides the free NEG hours for 2,3 and 4-year-olds. We also run Afterschool club on a term time basis and Holiday club throughout the half terms providing  for children 5-10 years. The nursery is open from Monday – Friday 8am – 6pm 5 days a week. The nursery is closed during bank holidays, staff training days and Christmas holidays. We are located off Woolwich manor way with local buses and DLR stations within walking distance. Our nursery boasts a spacious play area where the children get to enjoy outdoor play at the nursery. The nursery is fully covered by CCTV both indoors and outdoors, and there are also two electronic  gates at the entrance.

At the Alphabet House Nursery, we aim to provide a happy, warm and stimulating environment for our children and support them in having great independence, learning through play and being confident and resilient learners. Each child is allocated to a key person who is responsible to ensure that the child is well taken care of and there is a smooth transition from nursery to home. Our last OFSTED inspection in 2017 was rated GOOD . Please feel free to call us to book a show around or for any other enquiries. We are always happy to see a new face and welcome you to our Alphabet world. We forward to hearing from you.

Yours Sincerely,
Shanice Morris
