Personal, Social & Emotional Development
Each child in our nursery is provided with a key person who provides them with experiences and support to develop their and others self worth, social skills and interest and motivation to learn.
Through celebrating festivals and cultural activities, children gain confidence and self respect and also learn to respect other children/adults from other cultures and beliefs to help form relationships with them and respect their needs and feelings.
Through nursery activities and group games, children learn to take turns, share fairly, work independently and as part of a group using words like please, thank you and learn the impact of their words and actions on themselves and others.
Our Montessori activities encourage children to persist with activities at their own pace but seek help when needed.
Other practical life skills such as dressing themselves, maintaining personal hygiene and caring for their environment is learnt through the use of our practical life equipment.
Our simple rules and nursery routines help to form the boundaries that the children need to behave appropriately, understanding the difference between right and wrong ways of relating with other children.
Our study and care for living things at different times during the year encourage the children to care for living things and treat them with care and concern.
The children are encouraged to express their feelings of joy, sorrow or wonder in response to the world around them and thus formulate appropriate coping skills at an early age. We celebrate different religious festivals in order to celebrate diversity.
