This area of learning is packaged in a way that helps children to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding that help them to explore the world.
Through topic work children learn and talk about where they live, their communities, cultures, surroundings, their family and events past and present in order to understand and celebrate their cultural diversities.
Our nursery offers them the opportunity to work with different materials, to use a range of tools safely and be at one with nature.
Our ?walk about? serves the purpose of making the children aware of the purpose of some features in our local area.
Our nature/discovery table encourages the children to observe, discuss, ask questions about why things happen and how things work, observe similarities and differences between living and man made things. The children learning are supported with appropriate information technology.
Giving the children free choice of activities as appropriate to the time of the day, ensures that they explore and select materials and equipment and use cutting, joining, folding and building skills for a variety of reasons.
