Curriculum
At the Alphabet House Nursery, we plan for the children?s learning using short term, medium term and long term plans.
All members of staff are involved with this planning and topics are carefully chosen for their suitability and the learning experiences the children derive from them. We use these topics now to plan for the parent partnership initiative.
Our topics for the year are as follows:-
January - Myself
February - Being healthy
March - Traditional stories and rhymes
April - Animals and spring
May - Growing
June - Sports
July - People who help us
August - Journeys
September - My family & where we live
October - Autumn and materials
November - Cultural rhymes, songs & stories
December - Winter and Christmas
The above topics are then broken down into weekly plans for each group covering the six areas of learning and development namely:
