Parental Partnership
O
ne of the Early Years Foundation stage theme is Parents as Partners.
At the Alphabet House Nursery School, we see the care and education of children as a partnership with parents.
Parents are encouraged to take part in nursery activities e.g. Fetes, Coffee Mornings, Quiz Nights, Outings, Cultural Nights and Picnics etc
We encourage parents to establish good rapport with the staff. Every child?s key person will give parents regular feedback about the child?s progress.
Parents of children under the age of two are given a daily feedback sheet about their child's day.
Comprehensive written reports are given annually.
Children's folders are on display for parents to access and monitor the progress of their children.
Regular open evenings are held for parents. These give parents an opportunity to discuss their child?s progress and any concerns they may have with their child?s key person. Parents will also be able to see the range of activities that we provide at the Alphabet House Nursery School.
We have an ongoing monthly parent's partnership initiative which is linked to the work the children are doing at the nursery so as to engender parental understanding of the workings of the nursery school and their childrens learning.
We have a suggestion box which we urge parents to use. We value our parents - opinions and are always open to suggestions/ideas.
Every quarter, a parental questionnaire goes out and response from this is incorporated into our plans for the next quarter.
A newsletter goes out every month sharing appropriate information and ideas with parents.
